Lisa & Sean Pascoe:
My husband Sean and I have a blended family with four fantastic children, one beautiful granddaughter and a foster child.
I am a Birth Practitioner of over 28 years.
Sean is a Tradesman, Foster Carer & Trainer
Together we strive to empower not only mums, but dads & partners as well, to actively participate in the birth of their baby.
Who We Are
I am a Doula, Childbirth Educator, Trainer & Breastfeeding Educator.
As a Doula, I am able to provide continuous, one on one support with no distractions.
Ongoing support from a knowledgeable birth worker can help to provide labouring mothers and support people with a sense of trust, safety and comfort; all essential elements of labour.
Having a baby is a life changing event and leaves lasting memories. Giving birth can be a gentle, beautiful and empowering experience and as a Birth Practitioner I have the opportunity to help create the birth environment needed to achieve a positive birth outcome.
My career as a Birth Practitioner has led me open a business devoted to not only educating & supporting families during pregnancy in preparation for labour, birth and beyond, but also educating other women to become birth workers to provide this much needed support.
Sean is an integral part of Birth Your Way who knows almost as much about birth as I do!!
He is part of the training team and also offers fathers to be a great preparation program - 'Dad's for Dad's'.
I have co facilitated Maternity Choices 'Choices for Childbirth' antenatal preparation and serviced areas in Metropolitan and Regional Victoria and North West Tasmania providing education, support and training to many local families; sharing my knowledge with those who aspire to support families in their pregnancy, childbirth and early parenting.
I have a broad understanding of Public Health Promotion and Community Services having worked in Breastfeeding Promotion, Young Parents Education, and Kindergarten Transition. I was instrumental in the development of the 'Parent Place' in Regional Victoria.
In collaboration, I developed the Ballarat Breastfeeding Strategy and was invited to participate in the development of the Federal Governments National Breastfeeding Strategy. I have successfully completed the '2011 Lactation course' with 'Australian Lactation Courses' as well as an Introductory training in Perinatal Mental Health Assessment with St John of God Ballarat, Neonate & Infant Crisis Management, participated in 'Collaboration, is it worth the Evidence' - Victorian Maternity & Newborn Clinical Network, Neonate & Infant Crisis Management, Cert IV Assessment & Training and Cert IV Community Services.
I am very well known for helping young parents, socially isolated and otherwise disadvantaged parents to achieve health literacy; enabling them to play an active role in maintaining their own health and the health of their babies.
My many years of practical experience and devotion to helping families achieve a positive birthing and early parenting experience enhances my abilities as a Trainer.
